I have lived in Sidney as a kid, Victoria as an adult (2005-2007) and am looking to move back to the island this winter. We are a family of 4 (wife, 20 month daughter, 1 wk boy) looking to stay for the long haul. My own research has caused a conundrum...so we are looking for a comment to push us one way or the other. We are looking primarily between cowichan valley (Maple Bay area-Mill Bay) and Victoria. What we seek is PRIVACY but close enough to infrastructure and social opportunities for the kids. We have identified some prospective acreage near Victoria as well as Duncan/Cowichan area...Obviously being close to the familiarity and established Victoria is good (we have friends there too) but I am thinking the right property in Cowichan Valley may be just the ticket (and may have some upside left too 10-15 years down the road)...comments? suggestions? opinions?
We are interested in life style, future schooling, crime, outdoor activities and the like.
